It's not the ill effects of having eaten so much pie in a day that concern me,

A review of my week not working: Enjoyable.  I have accomplished gloriously little, thus confirming my belief that Samuel Johnson was completely correct in stating that every man is, or hopes to be, an idler.  I also created a delicious & simple ESSENCE of LEMONADE, created with: 1 cup lemon juice (I used lemon juice), 2/3 cup sugar (I used turbinado), and 1/2 cup ginger liqueur (I used homemade), the former two ingredients to be made into a syrup and added to the latter one, the resulting combination to be added in smallish quantities along with water tonic, seltzer, or still to ice.

Sounds tasty. Perhaps you'll grow up into a professional confectioner of libations.

How do you homemake the ginger liqueur? The short list of ingredients on the (still) local ginger ale makes me think that it ought to be easy to homemake.

Ginger ale is pretty easy to make, and I have, in fact, made some, using this recipe.

I made the ginger liqueur by letting a whole lot of grated ginger steep in a bottle's worth of 100 proof vodka for about a month, maybe 6 weeks, and then sweetening it with some simple syrup.
