A rhythmic possibility

Aug 16, 2007

"Edna St. Vincent Millay" has, as one pronounces it, the precise stress structure of "Byron and Shelley and Keats".  One could venture a second line, "Was frolicsome, witty, and gay", though one doesn't know if that is actually true, and in any case, one finds one's inspiration and perspiration both foundering at the prospect of proceeding in the proper wise, perhaps because one knows vanishingly little about the authoress.  At any rate, one commends this curious fact to the attention of those interested in developing it further.

Actually, not completely gay. Bisexual, in fact.

Also, "Lions and tigers and bears". But you don't hear me saying "Oh my!" every time her name comes up in the conversation.
